Hello! My name is Ms. Ruiz. I am the Music/Chorus teacher here at McKinley School. I have been teaching for the last 18 years. I have a Bachelor in Fine Arts from UCONN, studied Voice at Mannes College of Music/ The New School in New York City, and have a Master's in Voice Pedagogy from Westminster Choir College/Rider University. Additionally, I study classical Voice with Olga Bakali in NYC, and I am a member of the University Chorale at Rider University under the direction of composer and conductor Tom Shelton.

Students in my class will not only learn rhythm, solfege, and instrument identification but will be exposed to a variety of genres of music ranging from classical to pop.
