Welcome to Preschool!
Dear Parents,
My name is Miriam Olmos, and I am very excited to be your child’s Pre-K special education teacher for the 2026-2027 school year! I have a certification in Preschool through Grade 3 (P-3) and a Master's degree in Teacher of Students with Disabilities. Since 2011, I have worked in the North Bergen School District as a resource teacher. This is my second year as a Pre-K special education teacher.
In our class, our priority is to create a nurturing environment where the students can develop their motor, social, emotional, communication, and cognitive skills at their own pace. I love teaching, and I'm very enthusiastic about helping my students develop their individual strengths and abilities. I hope to make your child's pre-kindergarten experience enriching and fun.
I would love to share a little bit about myself. In my free time, I love traveling, spending time with my family, watching movies, reading, and drinking coffee. I am also a cat person and have a cat named Leo.
I will be using ClassDojo as the main platform to communicate with families about important updates from the school and what is happening in our classroom. Queridos padres de familia,
¡Mi nombre es Miriam Olmos y estoy muy emocionada de ser la maestra de Pre-k de educación especial de su hijo/a durante el año escolar 2026-2027! Tengo una certificación para enseñar de preescolar a 3.er grado (P-3) y una maestría en Educación Especial. Desde 2011, he trabajado en el Distrito Escolar de North Bergen como maestra de recursos. Este es mi segundo año como maestra de Pre-K de educación especial.
En nuestra clase, nuestra prioridad es crear un ambiente acogedor en el que los niños puedan desarrollar sus habilidades motoras, sociales, emocionales, de comunicación y cognitivas a su propio ritmo. Me encanta enseñar y me entusiasma ayudar a mis estudiantes a desarrollar sus fortalezas y habilidades individuales. Espero hacer que la experiencia preescolar de su hijo sea enriquecedora y divertida.
Me encantaría compartir un poco sobre mí. En mi tiempo libre, me encanta viajar, pasar tiempo con mi familia, ver películas, leer y, no puede faltar, el café. También soy una persona a la que le encantan los gatos y tengo un gato llamado Leo.
Usaré ClassDojo como la plataforma principal para comunicarme con las familias sobre los eventos importantes de la escuela y sobre lo que ocurre en nuestra clase. 1 complete change of clothes (pants, t-shirt, underwear, socks), please put it in a Ziploc bag with the student’s name
1 crib-sized blanket
2 crib-fitted sheets
Diapers/Pull-ups/Baby wipes (if your child is not toilet-trained yet)

1 pack of Expo 8pk dry erase markers (Expo-low odor brand)

2 boxes of tissues
2 rolls of paper towels
1 bottle of hand sanitizer
1 bottle of liquid hand soap (Not antibacterial)
1 box of Ziploc bags (gallon)
1 box of Ziploc sandwich-size bags

Accidents Happen
Dear parents,
Spills and accidents occur in school. Please pack an additional change of clothes for your child in a large Ziplock bag labeled with your child’s name (including shirt, pants, underwear, and socks). Extra clothing will be kept in your child’s cubby in case of a bathroom accident or spill emergency.
Accidentes Ocurren
Estimados padres,
En la escuela ocurren derrames y accidentes. Por favor, empaque un cambio de ropa adicional para su hijo/a en una bolsa grande de Ziploc etiquetada con el nombre de su hijo/a (que incluya camisa, pantalones, ropa interior y medias). Se guardará la ropa adicional en el cubículo del estudiante en caso de un accidente en el baño o una emergencia por derrame.
