Welcome To Mrs. Milazzo's web page
Dear Parents:
Welcome Back!! Let me begin by introducing myself. My name is Mrs. Alison Milazzo and I will be your child’s ELA/Social Studies resource teacher for this school year. I’ve been working as a Special Education Teacher in the North Bergen School District for the past 21 years. I hold a B.A. degree in Special Education and an M.A. in general education. I reside in Essex County with my husband, 11 year daughter, our cat, and two dogs.
Welcome to one of the most incredible years your child will have in his/her school career. This is an exciting time as children embark upon new adventures in the world of learning. This is a year of important transitions, as well as one in which acquisitions of new skills is accelerated. I hope to make your child’s day of learning an experience filled with adventures and fun filled. I hope to instill a love of learning that will last throughout your child’s years of schooling. Each child will progress at his/her own rate, acquiring skills as he/she is developmentally ready. Maintaining each child’s self-esteem and building a secure foundation for growth will always remain a priority in our class. Here are some ways you can help:
- Please talk your child each day they return from school. Ask them what they learned. Ask them how their day was. Be inquisitive about their day of learning.
- Celebrate your child’s success, no matter how small it may seem. This will keep your child enthusiastic about learning and proud of their work.
- Read to and with your child every day, if possible. The more your child is exposed to language, the easier it will be for him/her to incorporate new skills in reading and writing in the classroom.
- Please, check my google classroom for daily work and especially google meets.
- Your child is responsible for checking their assignments and also participate in our meetings.
- Please, continue to enforce the importance of your child's class and home work participation.
- Google meets will also be part of participation and classwork grading.
I look forward to working with your child this upcoming school year. If you have any questions feel free to contact me at [email protected] I’m looking forward to a successful school year!!!!
Thank You,
Alison Milazzo
